The Border Security Force (BSF) has thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs from Pakistan into India. On Thursday, BSF seized a significant cache of narcotics near the India-Pakistan border in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab. They confiscated over 13 kilograms of heroin, which is considered one of the largest drug recoveries in the state.

According to the BSF, they received information about a drug shipment hidden in a concrete pipe (hume pipe) in the border area. Following this, the BSF personnel conducted a search operation and recovered 13.160 kilograms of heroin packed in six plastic bottles from a field near the village of Kalash in Tarn Taran. A BSF spokesperson stated that the accurate information received from the intelligence unit and the prompt action of the troops played a crucial role in recovering this significant haul.
