On Saturday, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed the Vijayadashmi rally at Reshimbagh ground, highlighting that content on OTT platforms contributes to “moral corruption” and requires legal regulation. He expressed concern over the nature of the material available on these platforms, stating that it is so inappropriate that discussing it is indecent, thus advocating for legislative intervention.

Bhagwat emphasized the importance of value education, noting that while the National Education Policy acknowledges its necessity and has created a corresponding curriculum, its success hinges on teachers exemplifying these values. He called for a new teacher orientation system to achieve this.

He further urged social media users to utilize these platforms as tools for uniting society and instilling values instead of fostering division and spreading obscenity.

In his speech, Bhagwat pointed out that the foundation of a child’s character is established between the ages of 3 to 12, shaped by their home environment, the behavior of elders, and familial interactions. During this crucial developmental phase, qualities like self-esteem, patriotism, morality, purpose, and duty are developed. He stressed the need for families to recognize this and initiate these efforts within their own homes.
