According to the health department, they received a tip-off on Saturday morning that a dairy owner had sourced “fake” paneer from a vendor in another district. The department indicated that, based on the tip-off, the vendor had purchased the paneer for 180 rupees per kilogram.

District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Amarjit Kaur stated that she, along with Food Safety Officer Yogesh Goyal and a helper, conducted the raid at the dairy and discovered 1.5 quintals of “fake paneer,” which the owner had procured from Patran in Sangrur district.
