Jalandhar: A grand procession will be taken out in the city today on the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Valmiki Maharaj in Jalandhar, Punjab. The procession will mainly be attended by the state CM Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, Minister Mohinder Bhagat and senior leaders including many MLAs. The police have made tight and elaborate security arrangements for this.
The traffic wing of the Commissionerate Police has made tight arrangements for this. A day earlier, the police had released the route plan of the procession in the entire city.
It should be noted that due to procession, many roads have been closed and traffic will be diverted from many points. This closure will continue till around 10 pm. Let us tell you that this procession is being taken out by the Lord Valmiki Utsav Committee in the city to mark the birth anniversary.
Route plan of Procession
The procession will start from the ancient temple of Ali Mohalla and will reach Ali Mohalla via Lord Valmiki Chowk (Jyoti Chowk), Luvkush Chowk, Bhagat Singh Chowk, Panjpir Chowk, Khingra Gate, Adda Hoshiarpur Chowk, Main Heeran Gate, Sheetla Mandir Mohalla, Valmiki Gate, Patel Chowk, Sabzi Mandi Chowk, Basti Adda Chowk. In such a situation, all these routes will remain closed for traffic from 10 am to 10 pm.
According to the plan issued by Jalandhar Police Commissionerate, traffic will be diverted from other squares including Nakodar Chowk, Skylark Chowk, Parinda Chowk, PNB Chowk, Press Club Chowk, Namdev Chowk, Shastri Market Chowk, Pratap Bagh, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chowk, Adda Hoshiarpur Chowk, Ikhri Pul, Hoshiarpur Road, Adda Hoshiarpur Gate, Tanda Chowk, Tanda Gate, Gopal Nagar T-Point, Sabzi Mandi Chowk, Maa Laxmi Mandir, Patel Chowk, Basti Adda Chowk, Shakti Nagar and Football Chowk.
