SGPC rejects Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh’s resignation, says ‘services are very much needed’

Harjinder Singh Dhami made it clear that SGPC is with Giani Harpreet Singh and urged him to continue his services.

Amritsar: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has rejected the resignation of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib’s Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh. Committee head Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that his services are very much needed right now and his resignation can not be accepted.

SGPC head Harjinder Singh Dhami held a press conference today and said that the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee needs Giani Harpreet Singh’s services very much right now.

He also said that in today’s time, politicians come to Sri Akal Takht Sahib, a letter is handed over and then interpret it in their own way. Advocate Dhami added that people are coming to the Panth and taking advantage by baking political breads. He appealed officials of Panth to play a meaningful role in today’s time.

Harjinder Singh said that last night also Giani Harpreet Singh was informed over the phone that his resignation would not be accepted by Akal Takht. He added that his services are invaluable and needed at this time.

He also advised politicians that any talk about Jathedars of Akal Takht should be done with full respect and no comment should be made in public.
