New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party Ex-Minister Satyendar Jain has been granted bail by the Supreme Court after being in jail for 2 years.
While granting bail, the Rouse Avenue Court said – the trial is not likely to end soon. Satyendra Jain was arrested in this case in May 2022. Jain has also filed a bail petition in the Supreme Court.
ED had started an investigation against Jain in the money laundering case on the basis of the FIR registered by the CBI on 24 August 2017. Satyendar Jain had purchased movable properties in the name of several people from 14 February 2015 to 31 May 2017. For which he could not give a satisfactory account. Along with him, a case was also registered against Poonam Jain, Ajit Prasad Jain, Sunil Kumar Jain, Vaibhav Jain and Ankush Jain.
Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on May 30, 2022, on allegations of money laundering through four companies purportedly associated with him.
The ED case is based on a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) complaint registered on the allegation that Satyender Jain had acquired movable properties in the name of various persons from February 14, 2015, to May 31, 2017, which he could not satisfactorily account for.
