Jharkhand elections: JMM releases list of 35 nominees, RJD names 6 candidates

Jharkhand Assembly elections are underway as the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced 35 candidates, including Chief Minister Hemant Soren contesting from Barhait, his wife Kalpana Soren from Gandey, and brother Basant Soren from Dumka. The list features candidates like Ravindranath Mahto for Nala, M.T. Raja for Rajmahal, Dhananjay Soren for Boriya, and several others.

Additionally, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has named six candidates for the elections, with nominees including Suresh Paswan from Deoghar and Sanjay Prasad Yadav from Godda.

The Congress party has also revealed a list of 21 candidates, with notable names such as Irfan Ansari from Jamtara and Ajoy Kumar from Jamshedpur East.

The elections for the 81 assembly seats in Jharkhand are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 13 and November 20, with the vote counting set for November 23.
