Punjab By-elections: Kewal, Kuldeep Dhillon to file nomination from Barnala seat today

During the nomination, both are going to show their strength by holding a road show.

Barnala: The process of filing nominations for the by-election on the Barnala assembly seat of Punjab has started. So far no big leader has filed a nomination from here. Today (Thursday) BJP candidate Kewal Dhillon and Congress’ Kuldeep Singh Dhillon also known as Kala Dhillon will file nominations in Barnala. During the nomination, both are going to show their strength by holding a road show.

Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa are also reaching Barnala to support Kala Dhillon. Before these by-elections, Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer, who became MP from Aam Aadmi Party, was an MLA from Barnala seat. Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer contested Lok sabha elections from Sangrur and became MP.

BJP candidate Kewal Dhillon will file his nomination along with his family in Barnala today. Before filing the nomination, he will show his strength by taking out a rally in the city. Kewal Dhillon has been close to former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. He was elected MLA from Barnala twice in 2007 and 2012.

He contested the 2019 Lok Sabha elections against Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and lost. A businessman by profession, Kewal Dhillon lives in Chandigarh with his wife and sons Karan and Kanwar. After the ticket was announced, the entire family has set up camp in Barnala.
