Chandigarh: In view of the increasing cold in the state, the Punjab government has changed the school timings. The timings of government, private, aided and recognized schools in Punjab have been changed from November 1.
Schools will start at 9 am and end at 3 pm. Orders in this regard have been issued by the Education Department. There are more than 19 thousand schools in the whole of Punjab on which the above orders will be applicable.
School timings in Punjab change 3 times in a session. From April 1 to September 30, the schools are from 8 am to 2 pm. Whereas from October 1 to October 31, the primary school timings are from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm and the middle to senior secondary timings are from 8.30 am to 2.50 pm.
From November 1 to February 28, the primary school timings are from 9 am to 3 pm and the middle to senior secondary timings are from 9 am to 3.20 pm.
