Ludhiana: A case of a student drinking phenyl has come to light in the village of Ludhiana. A ruckus broke out in a government school in Mullapur on Wednesday evening when a class 12 student drank phenyl in the school bathroom.
After the student drank phenyl in school, his fellow students took him to the Civil Hospital in Mullapur. Seeing his critical condition, he was referred to the Civil Hospital in Ludhiana. The student’s family has been informed about the incident.
The student who drank phenyl has been identified as Shiv Kumar, a student of class 12 in a government school in Hasanpur. Some students lit a firecracker in the school, which caused a ruckus in the premises. After that, a male teacher of the school came to his class and, without any reason, dragged him from his class by his hair and took him to the principal’s room while beating him.
He said in his statement that he told the teacher and the principal several times that he had not fired a firecracker but no one believed him. Frustrated by the assault, Shiv went to the bathroom of the school and drank phenyl. After drinking phenyl his condition started deteriorating.
On the other hand, the school administration has not said anything on this matter.
