Chandigarh: The State Women’s Commission will hear the case of sexual harassment of women police in Haryana for the second time. Earlier, on October 30, the Commission had called SP Aastha Modi, the investigating officer of this case. Aastha Modi sent DSP in her place and presented the investigation report in front of the Commission’s Chairperson Renu Bhatia.
Renu Bhatia had talked to the SP through video call. After this, Renu Bhatia talked about talking face to face with those women policemen who wanted to say something in this matter. The Women’s Commission Chairperson has called such 5 to 7 women policemen to her office in Faridabad on November 7.
Along with this, the accused woman SHO and woman DSP have to be present in the case. They have also been summoned by the Women’s Commission. Earlier, Chairperson Renu Bhatia wrote a letter to the Chief Minister for the transfer of the accused IPS officer, woman SHO and DSP, and all three have been transferred.
In this case, the government had formed an SIT under the leadership of ADGP Mamta Singh on November 3. The very next day on 4 October, ADGP reached the district where the accused IPS officer was posted. SP Aastha Modi was also with her. She recorded the statements of 30 female police personnel in the police line.
After recording the statements, Mamta Singh did not say anything. She said that the investigation had just begun, so nothing could be said. The committee’s investigation will be handed over to the DGP.
