Amritsar: In a major action against international illegal arms smuggling, the Counter Intelligence Wing in Amritsar, Punjab has arrested two accused. In this operation, weapons were also recovered from the arrested accused. The arrest was made when the police received information that these two were connected to a big criminal network and were involved in arms smuggling.
The information has been shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav through a post on X.

DGP Yadav informed that CI team Amritsar apprehended, 2 persons namely, Aditya Kapoor alias Makhan and Ravinder Singh. Preliminary investigation by the police has revealed that the arrested accused Aditya Kapoor has 12 criminal cases registered against him and he was operating on the directions of USA-based criminals Balwinder S alias Doni Bal & Prabhdeep S aliasPrabh Dasuwal & Portugal-based criminal Manpreet S alias Mannu Ghanshampuria.
These crime syndicates are rivals of the Jaggu Bhagwanpuria organized crime syndicate.
In this operation ledy by CI Amritsar, Police recovered 4 weapons including a Glock Pistol along with 5 magazines & 14 rounds. FIR has been registered at PS SSOC, Amritsar. Further investigations are underway to determine the previous smuggling activities carried out by the accused.
