Tarn Taran City, police officers came under fire from miscreant Jodhbir Singh alias Jodha, of Village Aladeenpur. Demonstrating quick judgment, the team from Tarn Taran Police acted in self-defence. In the encounter, Police party neutralized the threat by injuring Jodhbir Singh in his leg.
As per police, Jodhbir is a suspect in a recent ransom-related shooting incident at a businessman’s residence on November 5. Police also recovered a Glock 9 mm pistol from him.
Late night, SHO Harpreet Singh of Thana City received secret information that Jodha shooter, who demanded ransom, is currently preparing to carry out a major incident in Nala Kasur Rohi.
When Police Inspector Prabhjit Singh of CIA Staff and Thana City SHO Inspector Harpreet Singh raided, Jodha started firing on the police party in the dark. In response to this, he was injured by a bullet in his leg during police firing.
Tarn Taran SSP Abhimanyu Rana reached the spot with the police administration and took stock of the situation. He said that Jodha had fired in front of the house of a businessman named Waheguru Singh on November 5, its main motive was to demand ransom and spread terror by firing bullets at the house.
The brief information about the encounter in Rohi was shared by Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav. DGP Yadav affirmed that Punjab Police is committed in maintaining public safety and security for all citizens.
