According to the study of Richard A. Miller and Elizabeth Miller, the air of Baddi has become as dangerous as the smoke of 10 to 20 cigarettes a day. In a city where the AQI is 250, it is as dangerous as smoking 8 to 9 cigarettes. When the AQI reaches 350, it is as dangerous as smoking 18 to 19 cigarettes.

On the second day of Diwali, i.e. on November 1, the AQI of Baddi also reached 305 micrograms. But from November 2, it started improving and the AQI fell to 166 micrograms. The air in Baddi became satisfactory on November 5.

But from November 6, the situation started deteriorating again and the air got polluted day by day and for the last 3 days, the AQI has been more than 300. In the last 10 days, the AQI has been more than 300 seven times.

According to the officials of the Pollution Control Board, the biggest reason for the bad air of Baddi is the industries here. Pollution caused by vehicles also contributes to some extent.
