Chandigarh: In a big update a Fazilka resident has been arrested in connection with former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique’s murder case.
DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav has revealed it on social media platform X. He posted that In a breakthrough, the Anti Gangster Task Force, Punjab in a joint operation with Maharashtra Police has apprehended one person, Akash Gill, a resident of Fazilka in connection with the Murder of Baba Siddiqui at Mumbai.
DGP mentioned that Preliminary investigation reveals that the arrested accused is an associate of the Lawrence Bishnoi Gang and was providing logistical assistance to the shooters involved in the Murder of Baba Siddiqui.
So, the accused has been handed over to the Mumbai police.
It is learnt that a 21-year-old youngster identified as Akashdeep Singh of Fazilka was arrested from the Indo-Pakistan border in Punjab for his alleged role in the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique.
Mumbai Crime Branch officials said that this is the 24th arrest in the case, and a team is in the process of bringing him to Mumbai.
So, Baba Siddique was shot dead by three assailants on October 12 outside his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra.
Today, the police made the 24th arrest in the case, with the arrest of Akashdeep Singh or Akash Gill from Fazilka.
Officers mentioned Singh had played an active role in conspiring to kill Siddique. The officials are yet to reveal more details. Still, as of now, DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav mentioned that the arrested accused is an associate of Lawrence Bishnoi Gang and was providing logistical assistance to the shooters involved in the Murder of Baba Siddiqui.
So, the accused has now been handed over to the Mumbai police for further investigation.
