Ludhiana: After Shiromani Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal tendered his resignation from the position of party president, today the members of Youth Akali Dal under the leadership of Youth Akali Dal president Sarabjeet Singh staged a protest against Sukhbir Badal’s decision and demanded working committee to not accept the resignation.
Today, the working committee of Shiromani Akali Dal will also conduct a meeting to discuss various issues including the resignation tendered by Sukhbir Singh Badal. Sukhbir Singh Badal has tendered his resignation from the post of party president on Saturday and the next day Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bhupinder Singh Bhinda has tendered his resignation from the post of District President Ludhiana on Sunday.
Youth Akali Dal president Sarabjeet Singh who is demanding working committee to not the accept the resignation of Sukhbir Singh Badal said that if party committee accepts the resignation then he and other leaders will also resign.
Meanwhile, the Senior Leader of Shiromani Akali Dal Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema said that during today’s meeting several issues pertaining to Punjab will be discussed.
These issues include the establishment of allotment of space in Chandigarh for Haryana Vidhan Sabha, attempts being made to abolish the university senate, issues pertaining to MSP and DAP fertilizer supply and then the resignation tendered by Sukhbir Singh Badal.
