Jalandhar: A horrific road accident near the Pathankot bypass in Jalandhar resulted in the death of three people, while three to four others sustained serious injuries, including a child.
The police arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was completely demolished. Emergency responders had to cut through the wreckage to extract the bodies of the deceased. Police Station Division Number 8 and the SSF team were present for the investigation.
According to reports, the accident involved two vehicles and a truck. The driver of the truck fled from spot. All the vehicles were reportedly coming from Amritsar. After the collision, the truck veered into the opposite lane and overturned. Passersby at the scene rushed to help, attempting to pull the victims from the wreckage and transport them to the hospital.
However, two individuals had to be removed by cutting into the car. ASI Satpal, who was on the scene, indicated that a child and a woman were safely transported to the hospital. The child suffered a broken arm, while the woman had various injuries. According to the police, there were approximately six to seven people in the car. The injured individuals were taken to a private hospital located along the highway, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations at civil hospital Jalandhar.
