Sukhu govt unable to clear the power dues, HC allows sale of Himachal Bhawan

For this, the High Court has issued this order and has given the company the facility to recover its dues after auctioning Himachal Bhawan.

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh state government has received a major setback from the state High Court regarding Himachal Bhawan located in Delhi. The Himachal Pradesh High Court has issued orders to attach Himachal Bhawan located in Delhi and this has happened because the Himachal government did not pay the dues of a power company. For this, the High Court has issued this order and has given the company the facility to recover its dues after auctioning Himachal Bhawan.

This company named Sally Hydro Power Company owes the government Rs 64 crore as an upfront premium, in the case of which the High Court has issued these orders. This amount was deposited with the state government as upfront premium by Sally Hydro Power Company for the operation of the power project located in Lahaul Spiti.

Later the company returned this project to the government because the company alleges that the government did not provide the necessary facilities for the operation of the project. In such a situation, the amount of upfront premium was not returned to the company by the government, after which the company approached the court regarding this matter.

Now the court has given a decision in the interest of the company and has ordered to attach Himachal Bhawan, a property of Himachal Pradesh located in Delhi. Along with this, the court has also ordered to pay the interest amount of sixty four crore rupees. The next hearing in this case is now scheduled for December 6.

In 2009, the state government had allotted a 320 MW power project to Seli Company in Lahaul Spiti and this entire matter is related to this. Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur has once again targeted the state government regarding this.
