Chamba (Himachal): An Alto car crashed near Sawanpur on the Bharmour-Bharmani road in the remote area of Bharmour, Himachal Pradesh, late on Monday night.
In this accident, three members of the same family lost their lives, while two others were injured. One of the injured individuals is receiving treatment at the Civil Hospital in Bharmour. The condition of the second injured person is critical, and he was referred to Chamba Medical College after receiving initial first aid.
The deceased include two brothers who tragically died in the accident. Additionally, the third victim is a woman, the wife of one of the deceased brothers. All three were residents of Sanchui village in Bharmour.
They have been identified as Dharam Singh’s two sons, Vijay Kumar and Kamlesh Kumar, and Vijay Kumar’s wife, Tripta Devi. Vijay Kumar’s daughter, Nandini Devi, was also injured in the accident and is currently being treated at the Civil Hospital in Bharmour. Additionally, another injured person from the car, Shivkumar, son of Man Singh, is in critical condition and has been referred to Chamba Medical College for further treatment.
According to the police, the accident occurred around 12:30 AM on Monday night. Vijay Kumar’s family was traveling to a wedding in another village, Grema, near Bharmour’s village, Sanchui. They had taken the car to attend the celebration. Late on Monday evening, they left their aunt’s house in the car and headed back to Sanchui.
As they were driving through the hills near Sawanpur, the car lost its balance. It then veered off the road, broke through the railing, and slid down the hill, coming to rest about 200 meters below on the road.
The accident produced a loud noise, which alerted nearby residents. They rushed to the scene, informed the police, and helped to extricate the injured from the car.
