Andhra Pradesh: On November 22, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presented his vision for transforming the state into Swarna (Golden) Andhra Pradesh by the year 2047 during a session in the state Assembly.
This vision centers on the themes of Wealth, Health, and Happiness (WHH). Naidu explained that the government developed “Padi Sutralu,” or 10 guiding principles, after consultations with government officials, industry leaders, and citizens. These principles include aims like zero poverty, employment generation, skill development, water security, agricultural empowerment through technology, optimized logistics, energy cost reduction, product excellence, cleanliness, and the use of deep tech for impactful solutions.
Naidu emphasized that these principles reflect the aspirations of the people of Andhra Pradesh. The vision framework consists of four foundational pillars, 12 strategic themes, and over 270 initiatives, with a strong focus on rural development. He reiterated the commitment to making Andhra Pradesh a wealthy, healthy, and happy state.
The Chief Minister highlighted poverty alleviation, inclusive growth, and job creation as primary goals. He stressed the importance of continuous human resource development and skill training, promising to reduce farming investments while increasing farmers’ revenues. Naidu expressed his determination to lead the state effectively.
He criticized the previous government for damaging Andhra Pradesh’s reputation and noted that such political issues deter investors. Naidu expressed confidence in returning to the Assembly for a fifth term, stating that his political career is dedicated to serving the public rather than personal gain. He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a developed India by 2047, coinciding with the centenary of Indian independence.
Naidu urged MLAs to create their own developmental visions for their constituencies, asserting that public service would garner public support. He pointed out that India is currently the fifth-largest economy and that state progress is essential for national development.
Additionally, he announced plans to establish two coastal economic zones and emphasized the need for the state to become a hub for green energy and hydrogen. He called for basic amenities like roads, water, and electricity in rural areas. Regarding the Amaravati capital region, Naidu stated that old tenders would be canceled and new ones issued, with work expected to commence by December 15.
