Patiala: A person who had come to collect ashes at a crematorium in Patiala, Punjab, was shot dead. The deceased has been identified as Navneet Singh, a resident of Patiala. All the attackers were sitting in ambush inside the crematorium.
The accused fired indiscriminately and then fled from there. The number of attackers is said to be 2. At present, it is not known why the murder was committed and what enmity Navneet had with anyone. The entire family is restless after the murder.
According to the information received, forensic teams have reached the spot for investigation. At present, the police are treating the case as a business dispute.
Navneet’s uncle had died recently. His last rites were performed in the crematorium. Navneet had reached the crematorium with other members of his family to collect the ashes. The accused were already surrounded and waiting after which the accused opened fire on Navneet Singh.
