Ahead of PM Modi’s visit Chandigarh declared ‘no fly zone’

The order says that this decision has been taken given the threat of terrorist attacks.

Chandigarh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going on a visit to Punjab on December 3. Before this, security arrangements have been tightened in Chandigarh. Chandigarh has been declared a ‘no flying zone’ ahead of PM Modi’s visit. The order says that this decision has been taken given the threat of terrorist attacks. Now, no drone or unmanned aerial vehicle will be allowed to fly in Chandigarh on two days, December 3 and 4.

District Magistrate of UT Chandigarh Nishant Kumar Yadav, exercising the powers vested in him under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, has issued an order ordering a “no flying zone” in Chandigarh on the flight of drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (U.A.V.s) from 02.12.2024 to 03.12.2024.

The order shall not apply to the competent authorities and employees of the law enforcement agencies including the Police, Para Military, Air Force, S.P.G.

This order shall come into force from zero hours on 02.12.2024 and shall remain in force till 03.12.2024. Any violation of this order shall invite action under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code, 2023 and other relevant provisions of the law.
