Ludhiana: The police had an encounter with a kidnapper in Ludhiana at around 11:45 pm. The kidnapper was shot in the thigh. The criminal was going on a bike from Dhanansu Cycle Valley. The police had received information that he was absconding in the case of kidnapping a youth in Shahkot. When the police blocked the road and signaled the criminal to stop, he opened fire on the police team and tried to escape.
The good thing was that the bullet did not hit any policeman. The police personnel retaliated and hit the criminal’s thigh. The criminal fell on the ground along with the bike. The police also recovered a .32-bore pistol from him. The criminal has been identified as Gulab Singh. There are already 4 to 5 cases registered against him.
ADCP Amandeep Singh Brar and CIA-1 Inspector Rajesh immediately reached the spot. They took the injured kidnapper to the hospital with the help of an ambulance. Giving more information, ADCP Amandeep Brar said that the metropolitan police has once again started a major operation against gangsters. Last night, the police tried to catch a gangster going on a bike in the Dhanasu area on Chandigarh Road.
When the police signaled him to stop, the said gangster started firing at the police. The police first fired in the air but when the miscreant started firing continuously, the police shot him in the thigh.
He fell after getting injured. The police arrersted the injured gangster Gulab on the spot and immediately rushed him to the hospital. Gangster Gulab had kidnapped a youth from Shahkot area a few days ago. After which he was wanted.
The accused is also declared a fugitive in many cases in Ludhiana. He was being continuously searched by the police. After getting the criminal treated, he will be produced in the court. The police have also started searching the records of his other associates.
