Notification for Haryana Rajya Sabha by-election will be issued today

This Rajya Sabha seat has fallen vacant from the SC quota.

Chandigarh: Notification will be issued today for the by-election of a Rajya Sabha seat in Haryana which fell vacant after Krishan Lal Panwar became MLA from Israna. Many leaders in the BJP have staked their claim for this seat. Amidst all this, now another new contender has joined. Dr. Banwari Lal, a former cabinet minister and known as a big Dalit face of the party, has also started staking claim for this seat.

One reason for this is that his ticket from the Wabhal seat was cut in the recent assembly elections. The party will try to adjust him by giving him a ticket from Rajya Sabha. This Rajya Sabha seat has fallen vacant from the SC quota. However, Bishnoi, Jat, Brahmin, and other Dalit faces are lobbying for this seat.

Some party leaders say that Krishan Lal Panwar went to Rajya Sabha from SC quota. Therefore, it is expected that the leader will be sent to Rajya Sabha from SC quota only. However, the BJP is still waiting for the date of the election announcement from the Election Commission.

Voting will be held on December 20 for the Rajya Sabha by-election in Haryana. The result will be declared in the evening of the same day. The Election Commission issued its notification on Tuesday. The nomination process will start on December 3. The last date for nomination is December 10.

Voting will take place only when the second nomination comes. BJP’s victory is considered certain as per its strength in numbers, Congress may stay away from this election like the last Rajya Sabha by-election.
