Farmers to march towards Delhi from tomorrow, Haryana Admn seeks clearance for protest

Farmers will reveal the next strategy by holding a press conference at 3 pm today.

Farmers have decided to march to Delhi on Friday (6 December) for the fulfillment of their demands including legal guarantee of MSP for crops. Haryana Police has asked farmers for a copy of the order to protest in Delhi. Farmers clearly say that they will move forward in groups on the 6th. Farmers told Haryana to remain firm on their words. They will reveal the next strategy by holding a press conference at 3 pm today.

Today is the 10th day of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s fast unto death. His health has also started deteriorating. However, farmer leaders clearly say that till the government does not listen to them, the fast unto death will continue like this.

The High Court has ordered to maintain the status quo at Shambhu border so that no untoward incident occurs and both parties have been appealed to resolve this issue through mutual dialogue. A committee has also been formed by the Supreme Court in this regard which is talking to every party.

Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher said that the entire situation regarding the foot march will be made clear in the press conference at 3 pm today. Pandher said that farmers have been protesting for their demands for the last 297 days. The Haryana administration is saying that Section 144 is in force but all conditions are normal in Haryana. Farmers will march on foot tomorrow. Pandher said that the government is treating them as if they are people of another country as huge police force have been deployed to stop farmers at the borders.

On the other hand, the Haryana administration has appealed to the farmers to reconsider their protest and go to Delhi on foot, and take further action only after getting permission from the Delhi Police, otherwise postpone this program. Police said that peace and tranquility should be maintained in the district and no law and order situation should arise. It is everyone’s collective responsibility to maintain law and order.
