Punjab: In a significant development, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia announced that a party delegation will meet Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, presenting “video evidence” related to the attack on Sukhbir Singh Badal. Majithia stated that the party will demand the registration of a case against Amritsar’s Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Superintendent of Police Harpal Singh Randhawa, who allegedly assisted accused Narayan Singh Choudhary in reaching Badal and attempting to murder him.

There has been no immediate response from the Punjab Police regarding Majithia’s allegations. The incident occurred at the Golden Temple on Wednesday when former terrorist Narayan Singh Choudhary attempted to shoot Badal, who narrowly escaped. Plainclothes police officers apprehended Choudhary and later arrested him. This attack was captured by the media, who were present to cover Badal’s activities as a ‘sevadaar’ (volunteer) at the Sikh shrine, marking a day of atonement for the alleged “mistakes” of the Akali Dal government from 2007 to 2017.
