Amritsar: The interim meeting of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) is going to be held today, Monday. This is the first meeting after the sentencing by Sri Akal Takht Sahib and the attack on Sukhbir Badal. The main agenda of this meeting is also the attack on Sukhbir Badal. Apart from this, some other issues are also to be discussed.
Before the announcement of this meeting, the committee head Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and after the announcement, the members of the interim committee also went to meet Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. At the same time, Sukhbir Badal’s sentence is still going on. After serving at three gurudwaras, Sukhbir Badal now has to go to Damdama Sahib and Sri Muktsar Sahib to complete his sentence.
After Sukhbir Badal was sentenced, Sri Akal Takht Sahib also commented on the advertisement of 90 lakhs given by Dera Sacha Sadh after the pardon. Sri Akal Takht Sahib had clarified that this amount is to be recovered from Sukhbir Badal and his associates with interest. The responsibility of recovering this money has been given to SGPC. It is expected that the process of taking back this money will also be discussed in this meeting.
Sukhbir Badal’s sentence started from Golden Temple on 3 December, which will be completed on 13 December. An order has also been given by Sri Akal Takht Sahib to accept the resignations given by Sukhbir Badal and others and send a report of it. But due to the punishment, Akali Dal had sought time from Sri Akal Takht Sahib to accept it and submit the report and this demand has also been accepted by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
At the same time, the rebel group once again appeared different on the delay in accepting Sukhbir Badal’s resignation. The rebel group has described the delay in accepting Sukhbir Badal’s resignation as a disregard of the orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
