Mumbai: Actor Mushtaq Khan, recognized for his role in ‘Welcome’ and recently seen in the horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’, recounted a frightening ordeal where he was kidnapped from the Delhi-Meerut highway.

According to reports, he was lured under the guise of attending an award ceremony in Meerut on November 20. The kidnappers had even arranged his flight tickets and paid him an advance.

However, upon arriving in Delhi, the situation took a dark turn. He was picked up and driven to a remote location near Bijnor, where he was held captive for several hours. The kidnappers tortured him and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore, but ultimately, they only managed to withdraw Rs 2 lakh from him and his son’s accounts.

How Khan managed to escape resembles a plot from a classic 1970s Hindi film. He heard the morning azaan and noticed a mosque nearby, which prompted him to make a run for it. He sought help from local residents and was able to return home safely with the assistance of the police.

The police have begun an investigation into the matter. Mushtaq Khan is reportedly recovering well and is expected to share more details about his harrowing experience with the media soon.
