Mohali Drug smugglers arrested, Heroin recovered from car

The arrested accused are Heera Singh and Janpreet Singh, both residents of village Tharu, district Tarn Taran.

Mohali: Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested two drug smugglers in Mohali. 300 grams of heroin and a car have been recovered from them. Both the smugglers used to supply heroin to small suppliers.

The arrested accused are Heera Singh and Janpreet Singh, both residents of village Tharu, district Tarn Taran. Based on secret information, ANTF had arrested a person named Rajesh with 150 grams of heroin some time ago.

Rajesh revealed during interrogation that he used to buy heroin from Heera Singh and Janpreet Singh at the rate of Rs 1200 per gram and sell it to his customers in Mohali.

Based on Rajesh’s information, the ANTF team laid a trap near Haveli in Jalandhar. Here Heera Singh and Janpreet Singh, who were travelling in a Fortuner car, were arrested. During the search of the car, 300 grams of heroin was recovered.

During preliminary interrogation, the accused said that they used to bring a consignment of heroin from the border area and further supply it to small suppliers. ANTF in-charge Ram Darshan said a case has been registered against the accused. They were produced in the court, from where they have been taken on two-day police remand.
