Congress MLAs arrive at MP Assembly with tea kettles and garland of liquor bottles

Bhopal: Congress MLAs in Madhya Pradesh staged protests at the state Assembly for the third consecutive day during the winter session on December 18. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar emphasized that the youth of Madhya Pradesh are resorting to opening tea stalls due to this unfulfilled promise.

Additionally, Congress MLA Mahesh Parmar from Ujjain attempted to enter the Assembly wearing a garland made of liquor bottles to draw attention to alleged irregularities in the state’s liquor policy. Security personnel prevented him from entering until he removed the garland. Parmar had previously raised concerns about a potential Rs 5,000 crore liquor scam during an ‘attention motion’ in the Assembly and called for a comprehensive investigation.

In response to the protests, Minister Vishwas Sarang criticized the Congress demonstration and indicated he would address the Speaker regarding potential actions against the protesting MLAs. Meanwhile, Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar began discussions on the supplementary budget presented the day before, which amounts to Rs 22,460 crore, with significant allocations for various developmental projects.
