Punjab Terror Conspiracy Case: NIA Chargesheets 2 Aides of Khalistani Terrorist Landa

Accused were identified by NIA as members of a terror gang formed by foreign-based Khalistani terrorist Landa.

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday chargesheeted two key aides of designated individual terrorist Lakhbir Singh @ Landa of the banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist organisation in a Punjab terror conspiracy case.

Jaspreet Singh @ Jass of district Ferozepur (Punjab) and Baljeet Singh @ Rana Bhai of district Badwani (Madhya Pradesh) were chargesheeted today before the NIA Special Court, Mohali. They were identified by NIA as members of a terror gang formed by foreign-based Khalistani terrorist Landa.

NIA investigations found Jass to be an important on-ground operative of Landa and his associate Pattu Khaira, while Rana Bhai was involved in supplying weapons to members of the Lakhbir Landa gang and other gangsters.

It further emerged during investigation that Jass was involved in Landa’s drug smuggling and extortion network aimed at generating funds for BKI. Baljeet was manufacturing weapons locally and using the social media to supply them to operatives of the Landa gang. Baljeet was one of the various weapons suppliers with whom the terrorists had tied up across the country for supply of arms and ammunition etc.

In the course of investigation, NIA seized various arms, ammunitions, narcotics and drug money, digital devices, and other incriminating articles from the accused. Investigations in the case are continuing.
