Hyderabad: A fire erupted early Saturday morning in a multi-storied building located in Madhapur, part of the city’s Information Technology hub. The blaze started around 6 AM in a bar-and-restaurant on the fifth floor of the Sattva Elixir building within Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge City, under the jurisdiction of the Raidurgam Police Station in Cyberabad.

The fire is believed to have been caused by a cylinder explosion, which also spread flames to the fourth floor. The force of the blast was strong enough to cause partial damage to a nearby building, creating panic among employees working at a software company next door.

Firefighters quickly responded to the scene, ensuring the safe evacuation of all employees. Thick smoke was visible from the high-rise situated in the central IT district, which is known for its modern architecture.

Rangareddy District Fire Officer Shaik Khaja Karimullah reported that four fire engines were deployed to control the situation. Senior officials from the police and fire services also arrived at the scene. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported, but the incident resulted in significant property damage.

According to Police Inspector Venkanna, initial checks suggest a cylinder blast may have caused the fire, although the definitive cause is still under investigation. Police have launched a case to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.

This marks the third fire incident in Hyderabad in less than 24 hours, following two separate fires reported on Friday. In one case, a godown of a cloth store at Erraguda in Rajendranagar caught fire, with officials suspecting a short circuit as the cause. The other incident involved a fire at a pan shop near Taj Tristar in Secunderabad, likely triggered by a lit lamp inside the shop.
