Woman duped of Rs 86 thousand rupees in Rohtak

On December 7, she received a call from an unknown number on her mobile number. The woman who called said that she was speaking from ICICI Bank.

Rohtak: A case of fraud of Rs 86,446 has come to light from a woman in Rohtak, Haryana. The woman received a call from an unknown number and the fraudster, posing as a bank employee, asked the woman for OTP on the pretext of activating the credit card. After this, he made purchases from her credit card. The police have registered a case on her complaint and started an investigation.

Ritesh Rani, a resident of village Rithal Phogat in Rohtak, lodged a complaint of cyber fraud at Sadar police station. She said that she currently lives near Ladhaut Road Rohtak Gurukul Bhaiyapur. On December 7, she received a call from an unknown number on her mobile number. The woman who called said that she was speaking from ICICI Bank.

She was told that the limit of her credit card has become Rs 50,000. If she wants to use it, then she would have to activate her credit card. She was deceived by saying that she would activate the credit card. For this, she was sent an OTP.

The woman said that after sharing the OTP, she got a message on her phone. In this, shopping was done on Flipkart twice using the credit card for Rs. 43281 and Rs. 43165. After this, she complained about the matter to the police. The police registered a case and started an investigation.
