Gurugram: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini held a meeting on Tuesday to assess the construction of a 700-bed civil hospital in Gurugram, aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the area.
During the meeting, Sudhir Rajpal, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, provided updates on the hospital’s construction in Civil Lines. The facility will occupy 7.73 acres and is projected to cost approximately Rs 990 crore.
The hospital will feature a 13-story structure, including a basement, ground floor, and 11 additional floors. It will be equipped with 60 ICU beds, 12 operation theatres, and an emergency helipad, among other essential amenities.
Rajpal also mentioned that a nearby government school currently occupies around 1.5 acres, which could be relocated to a 2.5-acre plot owned by the Education Department to accommodate the hospital’s future needs and enhance public access.
After reviewing the construction report, the Chief Minister instructed officials to adhere to the project’s timeline and ensure the hospital is equipped to meet the city’s future medical demands. He also requested that the new school building, proposed by the Education Department, be designed as a multi-story facility, allowing the school to continue operating in its current location until the new building is completed.
