Patna: Tragedy struck in Purnea, Bihar, where three individuals were brutally murdered over an illicit relationship. The incident occurred in Balua Toli village, within the jurisdiction of Aamaur police station.
The victims have been identified as Sazia (4), Dil Ara (2), and Mohammad Taukir (16). According to Vikas Kumar, the Station House Officer of Aamaur police station, the situation arose from a relationship between Nazreen (23) and her nephew, Mohammad Taukir.
Nazreen and Taukir were allegedly discovered together in a compromising position by Nazreen’s brother-in-law around 10 p.m. on Monday night. After confronting Nazreen and reportedly assaulting her, he informed her husband, a daily wage laborer in Punjab, about the incident.
Humiliated by the exposure of their relationship, Nazreen and Taukir reportedly decided to take their lives. They first strangled Nazreen’s two young daughters before attempting to commit suicide. Although they struggled to go through with it, Nazreen ultimately helped Taukir to commit suicide by strangulating him, but she could not bring herself to end her own life.
The horrifying events unfolded between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. The police received reports of the incident around 6 a.m. and rushed to the scene. Nazreen was arrested and confessed to the murders during questioning.
She has been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, and investigations are ongoing. Additionally, Nazreen’s brother-in-law has been arrested for allegedly provoking her actions. Authorities are working to ensure justice for the victims as they proceed with the case. The bodies of the deceased have been recovered and sent for autopsy, with Nazreen’s husband and Mohammad Taukir’s family informed about the situation. Kumar noted that Nazreen admitted to being in an illicit relationship with Taukir for the past three months.
