Shimla: The weather will change in Himachal Pradesh from today afternoon onwards. The Meteorological (IMD) Center Shimla has issued an orange alert for heavy snowfall in seven districts tonight and tomorrow. This is the first time an orange alert has been issued regarding snowfall this season.
According to the IMD, heavy snowfall may occur at some places in Chamba, Kangra, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Mandi and Shimla.
According to the Meteorological Department forecast, the sky has been cloudy in Shimla since this morning and the weather has turned bad. However, rain and snowfall is expected from the afternoon onwards. Good snow is going to fall on the mountains before the New Year.
The matter of relief is that the weather will be clear on 30 and 31 December for the celebration of New Year. This will also give the Public Works Department time to open the roads closed due to snow.
Before the rain and snowfall started in the mountains of Himachal, the temperature of 8 cities has gone into minus. The minimum temperature of Bhuntar has fallen to -0.9 degrees, Kalpa -1.6 degrees, Manali -1.8 degrees, Kukumsari -7.8 degrees, Tabo -12.1 degrees and the minimum temperature of Bajaura in Kullu has fallen to -0.7 degrees Celsius. It will fall further during snowfall.
