Mumbai: Manoj Bajpayee has completed filming for the third season of the acclaimed streaming series ‘The Family Man,’ as announced on December 28. He shared behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot on his Instagram Stories.

In ‘The Family Man,’ Bajpayee plays Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man who secretly serves as an intelligence officer for the fictitious Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC) within India’s National Investigation Agency. The project was first revealed in June 2018, with filming for the inaugural season taking place across locations such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh, concluding in May 2019. The second season began filming in November 2019 and finished in September 2020.

Alongside Bajpayee, the series stars Priyamani, Sharad Kelkar, Neeraj Madhav, Sharib Hashmi, Dalip Tahil, Sunny Hinduja, and Shreya Dhanwanthary. It is produced and directed by Raj & DK, who co-wrote the story with Suman Kumar; dialogues were crafted by Sumit Arora and Kumar. Samantha Ruth Prabhu joined the cast as the main antagonist in the second season, marking her entry into the digital space, while Suparn S. Verma directed part of that season.

The teaser at the end of the second season hints at a storyline involving the Covid-19 pandemic and a Chinese attack on Northeastern India, suggesting the virus is used as a diversion for the assault.

Bajpayee has received several prestigious awards, including four National Film Awards and two Asia Pacific Screen Awards, and has been recognized for his outstanding performances in films such as ‘Satya,’ ‘Kaun,’ ‘Gangs of Wasseypur,’ ‘Veer-Zaara,’ ‘Aligarh,’ ‘Sonchiriya,’ and ‘Gulmohar,’ the latter of which earned him his fourth National Award.
