Khanauri: Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal’s fast unto death on Khanauri border has entered its 35th day today (Monday) over 13 demands including legal guarantee of MSP of crops. Meanwhile, Punjab Police and administration officials have reached the border under the leadership of former ADGP Jaskaran Singh. Patiala Range DIG Mandeep Singh Sidhu and SSP Nanak Singh are also present with him.
Soon there will be a meeting with the farmers again today. In the meeting, Dallewal will be persuaded to take treatment along with the hunger strike. Before this, he had two meetings with the farmers. But no solution could be found. However, tomorrow there is a hearing of this case in the Supreme Court. In such a situation, the government is not in the mood to leave any stone unturned.
Dallewal’s health is in bad condition. On the other hand, farmers have spent the whole night awake. The farmers said that the administration’s movement on the Khanauri border has increased a lot. Farmers feared that farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal could be forcibly taken to the hospital. At the same time, farmer Jagjit Singh Dallewal also went live on his social media account late at night and appealed to the people to reach the Khanauri border. He said that the administration is trying to crush the farmers’ struggle.
