Mumbai: Renowned actress Hema Malini recently visited an ISKCON temple located in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.

On Thursday, she shared photos from her visit on Instagram, expressing her joy and revealing that the temple will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 15, 2025. In her post, she wrote, “Something beautiful is coming up in Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. Very close to my heart, ISKCON has built a stunningly lovely temple where the presiding deity is Radha Madanmohan.”

She acknowledged the dedication of Surdas Prabhu ji and many devotees and artisans who have worked tirelessly for a decade to bring this temple to life. Hema Malini mentioned that she felt fulfilled after offering her respects at the temple on New Year’s Day.

Previously, she participated in a rally aimed at promoting cleanliness, where she shared photos on Instagram from the event. In her caption, she noted her involvement in a rally of 200 children organized by Mayor Vinod Agarwal and Municipal Commissioner Shashank Chaudhary to raise awareness about the “swachata abhiyan” (cleanliness and hygiene).

On the professional front, Hema Malini continues to serve as the MP for Mathura, having won her seat for the third consecutive time in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, securing 671,293 votes against her closest competitor, who received 377,822 votes. She has trained in Kuchipudi and Mohiniattam dance forms and has portrayed various dance roles, including Narasimha and Rama in Tulasidas’s ‘Ramcharitmanas.’

In recognition of her contributions, she was awarded the Padma Shri in 2000, the fourth-highest civilian honor in India.
