Mumbai: Producer Ekta Kapoor has shared a cryptic Instagram story seemingly addressing actor Ram Kapoor, following his recent remarks about their show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain.
Ekta wrote, “Unprofessional actors giving interviews about my shows should shut up! False information and skewed stories. Can only last till I talk… but there is dignity in silence.”
Her statement appears to be in response to Ram Kapoor’s comments, which went viral after he discussed a controversial on-screen kiss with co-star Sakshi Tanwar during an interview with Siddharth Kannan.
Ram Kapoor revealed that he had initial reservations about the scene, which received backlash at the time. He explained, “As an actor, it’s my job to follow the script. I couldn’t refuse to do the scene; that would mean I’m not a professional. I didn’t do anything wrong.”
He added that Ekta Kapoor had insisted on the scene despite it being the first kiss shown on Indian television. Ram claimed he sought approval from his wife before proceeding, and also spoke to Sakshi about her comfort with the scene.
Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, which first aired in 2011, became a popular show thanks to Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar’s chemistry. The show’s second season later featured Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar in lead roles.
