Mumbai: Veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee recently reflected on his bond with the late Sushant Singh Rajput, with whom he worked on the film Sonchiriya. Speaking on a podcast recently, Bajpayee shared insights into their connection and the profound impact of Sushant’s untimely death.
Sushant, who allegedly died by suicide in June 2020, was a man of curiosity and intellect, according to Bajpayee. “He wasn’t a mad guy. He was well-read, knowledgeable about quantum physics, and deeply spiritual,” he said.
The actor admitted that the news of Sushant’s death hit him hard. “I was sad for three months as if I had known him personally and closely,” Bajpayee revealed. He also recalled advising Sushant to develop resilience against the challenges and politics of the film industry.
Sonchiriya, a slow-burn thriller about Chambal’s dacoits, featured an ensemble cast including Sushant, Bajpayee, and Bhumi Pednekar.
