Uttar Pradesh: The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday underscored the strength of India’s democracy, emphasizing that its foundations are rooted in the hearts of the Indian people.

Speaking with the media Yogi Adityanath said that India has the largest democracy in the world and also the most ancient.

“Democracy is rooted in our hearts. And there can be no better example of democracy. That is the tradition of India that has never imposed its point of view on anyone.”

He was addressing a conference of women members of the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly in Kanpur.

“I can say that countries in the world where they call themselves progressive countries. In those countries, women are represented in the legislature there. The representation of women in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly is 14 to 15 per cent and a little above 10 per cent in Uttarakhand, which will increase in the upcoming times,” the UP CM added.

He also stated that Uttar Pradesh’s assembly completely runs on paperless mode.

“Today all sisters have been present here in Kanpur. The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly in the last two and a half to three years is known for its innovation. It is known for new experiments. One legislative assembly within the country has implemented e-legislation. He comes first by successfully implementing this law,” Adityanath stated.
