Jalandhar: A 27-year-old youth died under suspicious circumstances in Jalandhar. The deceased has been identified as Sajan. Sajan was a resident of Chopra Mohalla of Mehatpur. His body has been recovered from near Mehatpur in Jalandhar.
The police have taken the body of the deceased Sajan into custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem. The police recoveredliquor and other items from the crime scene. At present, the police is investigating other angles including drug overdose in the case. Further action will be taken in the case after investigation.
SHO Sukhdev Singh of Mehatpur police station of Jalandhar Rural Police said that information was received about an unconscious person lying in Mehatpur. Based on the information, a team immediately reached the spot. He said that It was found at the crime scene that the said youth had died. The information was given by the people around.
After taking the body into custody and questioning the people around, the body was identified as Sajan, a resident of Mohalla Chopra. SHO Sukhdev Singh added that the matter is being investigated and cause of death will be clear in the postmortem report.
