New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the Ram Temple in Ayodhya to seek blessings from Ram Lalla on the first anniversary of the Pran Pratistha (consecration ceremony). His visit is notable as the nation celebrates this significant milestone.
Expressing his joy in the holy city, Yogi tweeted, “Blessed to be in Avadh which is famous for Ram on the occasion of the first anniversary of the Pran-Pratishtha of Lord Shri Ramlala Sarkar in Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. Hail Lord Ram!”
The anniversary celebrations will run until January 13, featuring rituals, prayers, and cultural events, with hundreds of devotees and saints participating to honor Lord Ram. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his greetings to the nation, highlighting the Ram Mandir as a vital part of India’s cultural and spiritual heritage, built through centuries of devotion and struggle.
The Ram Temple was formally inaugurated on January 22, 2024, during a grand ceremony attended by numerous esteemed guests and devotees. Although the first anniversary typically falls on January 22, it is celebrated on January 11 this year because of adjustments related to the Hindu calendar. The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust noted that the Pran Pratistha was conducted on Paush Shukla Paksha Dwadashi, known as Kurma Dwadashi. In 2025, this date aligns with January 11.
The temple in Ayodhya is anticipated to be finished by June 2025, though some reports now suggest it may be delayed until September 2025 due to unexpected construction setbacks.
