The decision to stop the screening of Emergency in Bangladesh has been taken due to the current tense relations between India and Bangladesh. This ban is less due to the content of the film and more to the political dynamic between the two countries.

One of the reasons for banning the film in Bangladesh is that the film shows the assassination of freedom fighter and first President of Bangladesh Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is called the Father of Bangladesh. He played an important role in the partition of Bangladesh and Pakistan. It is heard that in the film, his murder is done by a group of Bangladeshi extremists, due to which its release in Bangladesh has also been affected.
