Shimla: BJP has announced 9 block presidents in Himachal Pradesh today. Now 2 block presidents of Dehra assembly constituency are to be announced. Jaswant Singh has been made president of Sujanpur (Tehra) block, Vikram Rana of Bamsan (Tauni Devi) has been unanimously made president.
Pal Sharma has been elected president of Hamirpur Urban and Jasvir Singh has been elected president of Hamirpur Rural Block. Yashveer Patyal has been elected president of Bijhari block, Ajay Thakur has been elected president of Daulatpur block, Nitin Thakur has been elected president of Gagret, Rajendra Malanagar has been elected president of Kutlehad and Raj Kumar Verma has been elected president of Dera Baba Rudranand block.
State BJP vice president and co-election officer Sanjeev Katwal said that now the elections of 169 block presidents have been completed. Election of two block presidents of Dehra will also be held soon.
Let us tell you that the election of BJP block president was postponed in the constituencies where former rebel and independent MLAs of Congress had joined BJP on 23 March last year. BJP had set a target of conducting elections by 15 December. But due to factionalism, elections were not being held. Now consensus has been reached.
Now the election of the state president is to be held
There are 171 organizational blocks of BJP in the state. Out of these, 169 block presidents have been elected. Similarly, 17 organizational district presidents have also been selected. After this, the election of the state BJP president is to be held. BJP leaders are lobbying for this.
Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh, who has been made the election officer for the state president election, is coming to Shimla tomorrow to attend a party program. During this, he will discuss with the senior leaders of the state BJP and can announce the new president by January 25.
