Hoshiarpur: Seven-year-old girl and two other family members were killed in Hoshiarpur’s Garhshankar constituency on Thursday after an Alto car from which a family travels collided with a tanker.
Reports reaching said that the accident occurred near the village of Noorpur Jattan in Garhshankar. The family, identified as Gurnam Singh, his wife Varinder Kaur, and their seven-year-old daughter Seerat Kaur, were traveling in an Alto car from Manewal, Balachaur, to attend a wedding at Paldi, Hoshiarpur.
According to the details the family was on their way, after a tanker coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with their car, causing it to veer off the road and crash into nearby fields.
Eyewitnesses reported that the collision was sudden and severe, leaving no chance for the family to survive. The victims died on the spot. The tanker driver fled immediately after the accident, and the police are now searching for him.
Police officials said that we have initiated an investigation and are working to locate the tanker driver who fled from the scene.
Local authorities and police rushed to the scene to recover the bodies and have begun a detailed investigation into the incident. This tragedy highlights the need for stricter enforcement of road safety measures to prevent such devastating accidents.
