Amritsar : In a major crackdown aganist gangsters actvities in Punjab the Amritsar police have arrested six youths working for US-based dangerous gangster Prabh Dasuwal on Thursday.
According to the details from the p;olice a joint team of Thana Sadar police and CIA Staff-3 took action in two separate cases.
Among the arrested accused, Rohit, Sukhraj and Jugraj lived in a PG in Mohali. These three gangsters used to do recce of murder on the instructions of Dasuwal as well as supply weapons to criminals. They had also recruited a person in Tarn Taran and were planning a major crime.
Other arrested accused include Arshdeep Singh alias Vicky (19), Princedeep Singh alias Prince (18.5) and Anmol Singh (19). All the accused were in contact with Dasuwal through social media apps. According to the police, the weapons supplied by them were used in the murder of Sarpanch Rajwinder Singh Talwandi in Patti of Tarn Taran district.
The police have registered a case against the accused under sections 304(2), 3(5) BNS and 25/54/59 Arms Act. The case is based on a complaint that three men stopped the Activa of a man named Sachdeep Singh on Majitha Road at around 11 pm and snatched the keys.
When the complainant resisted, the person standing behind took out a pistol from his trunk. The three men snatched the weapon at gunpoint and fled from the spot, following which a case was registered at Sadar police station in Amritsar.
Considering the sensitivity of the case, on the directions of the Police Commissioner Amritsar, the police team of Police Station Sadar, Amritsar investigated the case from every angle and the accused who snatched the Activa at gunpoint.
Arshdeep (19) Singh alias Vicky resident of village Mardi Kalan, police station Majitha, Amritsar and Princedeep Singh (18 and a half years) alias Prince resident of village Metla, police station Shri Hargobindpur, district Gurdaspur, were arrested on January 12 from 27 Feet Road, Majitha Road and his third accomplice Anmol Singh (19) resident of Patti Road, police station Bhikhiwind, district Tarn Taran was arrested on January 14 from the area of 88 Feet Road, Majitha Road.
This Activa was stolen at the behest of Prabhu Dasuwal. The arrested accused Anmol Singh told that he had given the pistol used in the incident to another of his accomplices (Jugraj Singh). The arrested accused were produced in the court and remanded.
