Himachal: Government intensifies efforts to stop illegal mining

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government has taken a big step to stop the increasing illegal mining in Una district. A complete ban has been imposed on mining activities in the district for one year. Ban on crusher units with immediate effect

Industry Minister Harshvardhan Chauhan held a meeting with the officials of the Mining Department in the Secretariat. He said that all crusher units in the district have been banned with immediate effect. A high-level committee is being formed, which will also include officials of the Mining Department. This committee will give suggestions for the future action plan.

Police leaks information about raids

The minister also raised a serious issue that many times complaints come from the districts that the police do not cooperate with the mining officials. Some policemen also leak information about raids. The matter has been discussed with the Chief Minister and the Superintendent of Police has been instructed to take strict action against the personnel who leaked the information.

The Deputy CM had reprimanded from the open platform

Let us tell you that the opposition was continuously attacking the state government regarding illegal mining in Una district. At the same time, the Deputy CM of the state government, Mukesh Agnihotri, had also reprimanded the officials from the public platform that no tipper should be seen on the roads of Una till 9 am and had also given strict instructions to the DC-SP to stop illegal mining.
