MC vehicle falls into ditch in Shimla: Driver dies on the spot

Shimla: An accident took place in Shimla at 7 am today. The municipal corporation garbage vehicle on the Taradevi-Tutu bypass went out of control and fell into a 300 meter deep ditch, in which the driver died on the spot. The deceased person has been identified as Vinod Kumar, he was a resident of Krishna.

Local people reached the spot after hearing the sound of the vehicle falling and started rescue work. During the search, the body of the driver was found about 150 meters below the vehicle. As soon as the incident was reported, the team of Baluganj police station reached the spot and inspected the accident area. The police has sent the body to Indira Gandhi Medical College for post-mortem.

The vehicle was going towards the garbage plant

According to the information, the vehicle was going towards the garbage plant after collecting garbage as usual. In the accident, the vehicle broke three pine trees and fell into the Ghasni of Mathauli. According to other drivers of the Municipal Corporation, the deceased driver was quite experienced and the road at the accident spot is also quite wide. The initial estimate of the police is that this accident may have happened due to the bright sunlight falling in the eyes of the driver.
